Santa Ana College Launches Digital Dons Laptop Loan Program ITT Tech Students Enrolling at SAC Offered Year-Long Laptop Loan

(Santa Ana, CA)—In fall 2016, Santa Ana College (SAC) kicked off an innovative program, the Digital Dons, which offers qualified students the free loan of a new HP laptop for the entire academic year. Approximately 1,100 laptops are available for checkout. When initially established, these laptops were available to first-time, full-time students who are part of the ¡Adelante!, Freshman Experience, DSPS or MESA cohorts.

With the announcement last week of the closure of ITT Tech campuses nationwide, SAC administrators wanted to ensure that these students knew that SAC is an option for them. And they did something to ease the pain that these students are no doubt feeling.

“As a special courtesy to ITT Tech students who are managing an unexpected transition in their higher education studies, all ITT Tech students who enroll at SAC will be eligible for the year-long laptop loan,” said Linda D. Rose, Ed.D., SAC president.

To receive a laptop, students must attend an orientation session and agree to the Terms & Conditions of the program. Laptop borrowers must present a Santa Ana College student ID at the time of checkout. Only the borrower is authorized to use the laptop and the laptop is intended for academic use only. The laptops must be returned on or before December 9, 2016. Borrowers who enroll at SAC full-time for the spring semester will be eligible for automatic renewal.

IQ Bars, situated in the Admissions Lobby on the first floor of the college’s Administration Building and in the Nealley Library, are staffed with personnel to provide laptop borrowers with extensive support with all aspects of the laptop functions and the college’s academic technology.

Santa Ana College has also named a point person for all ITT Tech students interested in enrolling at SAC. They are invited to contact Basti Lopez with SAC’s Office of School and Community Partnerships. She can be reached at (714) 564-6442 or at lopez_basti@sac.edu. Basti will provide ITT Tech students all services required to immediately enroll them at SAC.

Santa Ana College offers 91 accredited majors with day, night, weekend, and online classes. The college’s in-demand associate degree and certificate programs include: accounting, automotive technology, biotechnology, business administration, computer science, digital media art, engineering, international business, manufacturing technology, and many more.
