Santa Ana College Named Top Workplace by The Orange County Register

​(Santa Ana, CA)— Santa Ana College (SAC) was selected as one of The Orange County Register Top Workplaces for 2016. SAC is #13 among large companies in the annual list and is the only Orange County college or university recognized this year. Rankings and overall results are showcased in the Top Workplaces special section, published in The Orange County Register on December 9. The winners were announced at the Top Workplaces Gala, considered the Oscarsâ of the human resources industry, the evening of December 8.

The Orange County Register Top Workplaces award recognizes 125 companies and organizations in Orange County that offer the characteristics that employees value most in a workplace. Every year, the newspaper ranks Orange County companies based on survey results from the companies’ employees on areas that contribute to job satisfaction including employee engagement, benefits packages and compensation, company leadership, training, workplace flexibility, diversity, and more.

Santa Ana College, which celebrated 100 years of educational excellence in 2015, serves over 32,000 students each semester in its credit and non-credit programs. The college has a staff of over 2,700, including 260 full-time faculty members, over 1,400 part-time faculty, 222 full-time classified employees, over 450 part-time classified employees, and 26 administrators. In 2015-2016, SAC awarded 2,411 associate degrees and 2,322 certificates. SAC ranks 19th nationally among the top 100 associate degree producers for “minority” students and 9th among the top 100 associate degree producers for Hispanic students, according to Community College Week.
