Orange County Higher Education PartnershipThe Orange County Higher Education Partnership, which consists of the Rancho Santiago Community College District, the Coast Community College District, the North Orange County Community College District, the South Orange County Community College District, UCI and CSUF, is mounting a positive public information effort targeting the Governor and state elected officials regarding the anticipated budget cuts to higher education in Orange County. The campaign includes a press event in Sacramento on May 8th. Are you an alumnus of one of the fine public higher education institutions in Orange County? Or, are you a strategic partner with one of these colleges and/or universities? If you are, we need your help! Our goal is to collect hundreds of letters of support – from community partners, faculty, staff, students, and alumni representing each of the participating higher education institutions – by Wednesday, April 30th. The chancellors and college presidents representing each one of our colleges and universities in the county will be traveling to Sacramento for the press event and will hand carry your letter of support to the Governor. Below is a template letter for your consideration. If you would like to write a letter of support, please feel free to customize this template letter in any way you choose. You may also want to include your personal contact information. You may print your letter of support on plain paper or on your agency, organization, or company stationery. Please address your letter to the Governor and State Legislature (as shown in the template letter) BUT mail it to my office, so that we can hand carry them to the Governor on May 8th.
