The ACT Center, in partnership with the Corporate Training Institute, provides state-of-the-art, computer-based assessments to identify skills gaps and training needs.  Our online, self-paced training modules help to improve basic skills needed in the work place.

Work skills assessments help students stand out as the most qualified candidates for employment, determine training needs, and measure skills competencies.

WorkKeys, ACT’s renowned workplace assessment tool, is the gold standard in skills testing.  Thousands of companies worldwide use this tool to make quick comparisons between a person’s skill levels and the job requirements.

The system is designed to help many groups using the National Career Readiness Certificate:

 National Career Readiness Certificate

  • Students/Job seekers – Earning a Certificate gives individuals proof of their foundational job skills, which can be used across the country. This gives job seekers an advantage when applying for jobs, complementing their diploma and resume.
  • Employees – Earning a Certificate highlights the skills needed for advancement.
  • Employers – Certificates can be considered as a pre-screening tool along with other educational and background information when making employment and training decisions – a plus factor in hiring or promotion decisions. They may also help identify who can benefit from skill training.
  • Workforce developers – Certificates can be used as a credential for completing skill programs.

If candidates need help in improving their scores for WorkKeys, they can register for online, self-paced basic skills training modules on the learning management system called KeyTrain.

KeyTrain will help raise the scores needed to receive the National Career Readiness Certificate whether it be for the bronze, silver, gold, or platinum levels.  To learn more about the NCRC, please call us or click here.

The ACT Center also serves as an online, full-service Corporate University.  One of the biggest advantages of online learning through the ACT Center is the ability to choose where and when you train as well as having access to a multitude of e-learning opportunities for every job and skill level.

Lastly, the ACT Center also offers the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language. This multiple-choice test is administered by the ACT Center and through Educational Testing Services (ETS) to non-native English speakers who wish to attend American colleges and universities.  The test evaluates a prospective student’s ability to understand standard English within an academic setting.  It is required for admission to most American colleges and universities.
