Understanding where our students reside is essential to gaining a clearer picture of our student body and serving them effectively. The RSCCD Heatmap of Students’ Residence provides an interactive, data‑informed view of where students live across the region. This dashboard visualizes student concentrations by geographic areas, using addresses and ZIP codes to help district and college leaders explore enrollment patterns and deepen our understanding of the communities we serve.
Users can filter by college campus location, credit or noncredit course type, academic year of enrollment, RSCCD district boundary status, and enrollment in unique, large programs such as apprenticeship, fire and criminal justice academies to examine trends and differences across student populations. By highlighting areas of high and low student density, the tool supports strategic planning, targeted outreach, and equitable resource allocation aligned with the district’s mission to serve its surrounding communities.
Notes:
- The visual is based on unduplicated headcounts.
- Apprenticeship and Academies enrollment includes students enrolled in the respective courses during any term of the academic year.
