Active in the community, Hummel has served as chair of the Board of the Orange Chamber of Commerce, president of the Orange Rotary, and member of the St. Joseph Hospital Leadership Council. Hummel and his wife Carrie, who was Orange’s 2003 Citizen of the Year, reside in Villa Park with their three sons, who attended the Orange Unified School District.

“Phil is a great addition to the Foundation Board,” SCC President Juan A. Vázquez said.
“As a longtime resident of the Orange area, he has a history of service to the Rancho Santiago Community College District, having served on the Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee.”

The SCC Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation that promotes awareness of opportunities and activities at the college, advocates for college issues, and participates in campaigns needed to provide for the scholarships, programs, and capital needs of the college.
