(Santa Ana)— Auditions for Santa Ana College’s cable television news programs, Around and About Orange County (AAOC) and Noticiero Latino del Condado de Orange (NLCO), are scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, at 11:00 a.m. News, sports, and entertainment anchors and reporters are being sought. Auditions will be held at the SAC-TV studios located in the Digital Media Center, 1300 S. Bristol., Room 103, Santa Ana.
No previous broadcasting experience is necessary. However, enrollment in either TV/Video Communications 131: Beginning Broadcast News Workshop or TV/Video Communications 132: Intermediate Broadcast News Workshop is required. Behind-the-scenes crew members and on-camera talent are needed for the dual English and Spanish productions seen weekly on Time Warner Cable and on Facebook. Candidates need to be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. from June 17 through July 24 when the shows are produced.
In its 30th year, AAOC is the oldest, continuous running cable show in Orange County. Among the program’s alumni are Patricia Gutierrez, a producer with KDOC-TV, Jeff Laabs, a photojournalist with KTLA 5, and Joe Rodriguez, an ESPN producer who will be covering the World Cup this June and July in Brazil.
