The Rancho Santiago Community College District Office, Santa Ana College, and Santiago Canyon College will be closed on Monday, June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth, the 11th Federal legal holiday in the United States.
Juneteenth gets its name from combining “June” and “nineteenth,” the day that General Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas bearing a message of freedom for the last enslaved people that resided there. Today, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.
Please join our entire District in learning more about Juneteenth by exploring the resources below and attending local celebrations.
