At Rancho Santiago Community College District, we champion the safety and security of every student, staff member, and visitor who steps onto our campuses and centers. From the District Office to Santa Ana College, Santiago Canyon College, and our education centers, we've built environments that are not only welcoming and inclusive but also actively protected and monitored to ensure learning and personal growth flourish.
Our 2025 Annual Security Report confirms what our community experiences daily: RSCCD campuses are among the safest in the region. Over the past three years, 2022, 2023, and 2024, no unfounded crimes were reported, underscoring our commitment to swift, thorough, and transparent responses to every incident. Our District Safety & Security Department works around the clock to ensure peace of mind. Our safety infrastructure includes:
- Continuous 24/7 patrols by trained officers on foot, bicycle, and in marked vehicles
- Emergency blue light tower phones, strategically placed across campuses and centers
- Safety Escort services available to anyone needing a walk to their car or class after dark
- The Rave Guardian mobile app, connecting users directly to campus safety teams, enabling anonymous tips, and contact options
- Strong partnerships with local law enforcement, ensuring rapid coordination and support when needed
“Our campuses are more than places to learn, they are communities where every individual's safety matters," said Chancellor Marvin Martinez, chancellor of RSCCD. “We are relentless in our efforts to maintain a secure environment so that everyone can engage fully in their studies and campus life."
Safety is also a shared responsibility, and RSCCD fosters a culture of awareness, empowerment, and collaboration. Through ongoing safety training, prevention education, and timely emergency alerts, we equip our community to remain vigilant and informed. These efforts, combined with the dedication of our Safety & Security team and the strong record reflected in our crime statistics, ensure RSCCD remains a safe, supportive, and thriving environment for all.
