(Santa Ana, CA)— Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) is pleased to announce Vaniethia Hubbard, Ed.D., as the Santa Ana College’s new vice president of student services. Hubbard will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination and evaluation of all student services and programs. She will lead and supervise all administrators on the Student Services team. Within her role, Hubbard will plan, staff, supervise and deliver student services and related programs, review and recommend college policies related to student conduct, student due process and student rights and enhance and improve college programs.
Since August 2008, Hubbard served as the dean of instruction and student services at the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) North Orange Continuing Education where she led and operated one of the district’s continuing education centers, was accountable for an annual budget of over $3.4 million and supervised 78 full- and part-time faculty, management and classified employees. Within that role, she provided leadership in the management, supervision and development of instructional programs and student services, including Admissions and Records, Counseling, Student Success and Support, Student Equity, Institutional Research and Enrollment Management. Prior to her decade-plus years of service in various capacities at NOCCCD, Hubbard served as the program coordinator for Long Beach Unified School District’s Juan R. Cabrillo High School. There, she provided leadership in support of federally funded grants and academic enrichment services for academically low performing students.
With 15 years of experience working with diverse student populations in secondary and post-secondary settings, Hubbard brings a proven track record of creating strategies to improve student success and expertise in management and implementation of organizational integrations to RSCCD.
Through statewide involvement, Hubbard has shaped state policies and initiatives. For the past two years, Hubbard has been the student service representative on the Common Assessment Initiative Steering Committee and Integrated Planning Ad Hoc Committee of the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Since 2015, she has served as the co-chair of the California Community College Chancellor’s Office Noncredit Student Success and Support Program Advisory Committee and for the past five years she has been the noncredit representative of the California Community College Chancellor’s Office Student Success and Support Program Advisory Committee and noncredit representative on the executive board of the California Community College Student Success and Support Program Professional Association. Additionally, she is an alumni representative on the California State University, Fullerton’s Higher Education Advisory Board.
Hubbard holds a doctorate in education from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), a master’s degree in social work from Clark Atlanta University and a B.A. in psychology from CSUF.
