Santa Ana College to Display Educator Art at In the Studio 6: Artists who Teach

​Santa Ana, Calif. – A variety of artwork will be on display when Santa Ana College (SAC) holds In the Studio 6: Artists who Teach, a showcase of work from the California Art Education Association. Drawings, paintings, photographs, collage, ceramics and watercolor images by Southern California high school, community college and university instructors, will be submitted for jury at this annual event.

“This is the sixth year that we have invited this professional group of educators to exhibit their personal art in our downtown gallery, and we are always pleased with the quality of work presented,” said SAC’s art gallery director and exhibition juror Phil Marquez. “It is important that students see that art instructors are also artists.”

Where: Santa Ana College Arts Gallery at the Santora Building, 207 N. Broadway, Ste. Q, Santa Ana, 92701.

When: December 2, 2017 through January 6, 2018, with an opening reception Saturday, December 2 from 7-10 p.m.

According to the California Art Education Association, “The mission of visual arts educators in California is to provide all students with learning opportunities that promote expression and the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the visual arts.”

The SAC Arts Gallery at the Santora Building is located on North Broadway between West 2nd and 3rd Streets in Downtown Santa Ana. The gallery is open on Fridays from noon to 4 p.m., the first Saturday of the month for the Monthly Art Walk from 7-10 p.m. and by appointment.
